    La Plata man arrested after allegedly firing gunshot at TV during argument

    CHARLES COUNTY, Md. ( DC News Now ) — The Charles County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) said officers arrested a man after he fired a gunshot at a television and threatened two people on Saturday morning.

    Police said that at around 10:50 a.m., officers responded to a La Plata home for the report of a man who fired a gun at a television and threatened two people in the home during a disagreement.

    CCSO said officers immediately established a perimeter around the house while another officer contacted the suspect and convinced him to exit the home peacefully. Police then took 45-year-old Alfredo Arroyo into custody.

    He was charged with first-degree assault, malicious destruction of property and other related charges.

    The other two people inside the home at the time were not hurt. Responding officers recovered a firearm from the scene.

    Officer Harden of CCSO is investigating.
