3.5-magnitude earthquake strikes near Palos Verdes Estates
A preliminary 3.5-magnitude earthquake struck about 4 miles west of Palos Verdes Estates in Los Angeles County at 3:09 p.m. Sunday, according to the USGS.The quake had a depth of about 8 miles, USGS reported. Shaking was felt from Long Beach to the San Fernando Valley and surrounding areas.There were no immediate reports of injuries or damages.This is a developing story. After nearly three weeks of concerted efforts by the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department and the public, four brothers who vanished from Palmdale have been found safe. According to KTLA, the siblings, ranging from 2 to 5 years old, were located Saturday afternoon. The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department confirmed the children had last been seen on July 1 around 2 p.m. in the 800 block of East Avenue P-12 in Palmdale and were believed to be heading to the Mojave area in Kern County at the time they disappeared.
