Firefighters battle heavy fire at Toledo house considered a ‘code red’ building
TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) - Toledo Fire and Rescue crews are battling a house fire Friday afternoon. Firefighters responded to the house fire at Boalt and Field, not far from the intersection of Broadway and Walbridge, in Toledo before 1:30 p.m. on July 19. The house was already marked as a code red building, meaning that it was not structurally sound, so firefighters won’t go inside.
TAPA family fun days bring music to local parks
The Toledo Alliance for the Performing Arts will be hosting summer family fun days packed with music and movement. The series of afternoon events will include live performances by musicians from the Toledo Symphony, music enrichment classes, dance classes, and instrument demonstrations. The next family fun day will take place at Ottawa Park from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday. There will be two additional family fun days on July 28 and Aug. 4 at Danny Thomas Park; they will also take place between 2 and 5 p.m.

All of the lightning strikes were counted over Michigan. This count shows where we typically have the most lightning, and where we lit up the most last year. The data comes from the Vaisala U.S. National Lightning Detection Network (NLDN) and the Vaisala Global Lightning Dataset (GLD360). These two networks monitor in-cloud and cloud-to-ground lightning activity 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Together, they detect more than two billion lightning events worldwide every year.
