Bedford residents asked to conserve water
As a result of the low flows in the Raystown Branch of the Juniata River, created by the ongoing lack of sustained precipitation in the river’s watershed west of Bedford, the Municipal Authority of the Borough of Bedford is requesting that its customers voluntarily conserve water by taking the following minimum steps (recommended by DEP):

He was born on August 20, 1927, in Bedford, a son of the late Jospeh C. and Grace Edna (May) Ritchey Sr. On October 28, 1966, in Bedford, he married Florence “Flo” (Koontz) Ritchey who preceded him in death on July 27, 2019.

She was born November 13, 1927, in Lewistown, the daughter of the late John F. and Vera I. (Gates) Eckman. She married Robert A. Detwiler, who preceded her in death on February 16, 1974.

Tyler James Sandridge, 23, of Springfield, died on Friday, July 5, 2024, at his home surrounded by his loving family. A funeral service will be held at Giffin Funeral Home & Crematory in Capon Bridge, on Thursday, July 11, 2024, at 1:30 p.m. Officiating is James Sandridge. Interment will follow in the Mt. Vivian Kaye Strawn, 79, of Romney, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, with family by her side after a courageous battle with cancer. Kaye was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest Lloyd Fowler and Dolly Mae Richards Fowler; a brother, Sonny Fowler; a sister, Loretta Davis; and two great-grandsons, Nolan Ross Rinker and Landon James Rinker.
