Linda L. Shriver
Linda Lou Shriver, age 81 of Romney, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, June 27, 2024. Born Dec. 4, 1942, in Morgantown, she was the daughter of the late Hector and Elizabeth (Jolliffe) LeRoy. In addition to her parents, Linda is preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, James L. “Jim” Shriver; her daughter, Suzanne Shriver; and her older brother, David LeRoy.
Fireworks for the Fourth
Fourth of July will be celebrated at Fort Bedford Park, Bedford, with entertainment, festival food, a cornhole tournament and fireworks. Food stands will be open from 3 to 10 p.m. Vendors include Wood Fired and Parker’z Fired, D&R Concessions, mini donuts, Meadows Kettle Corn & Lemonade, 25 Fresh Freeze Dried and Sno-Oasis.

City of Cumberland Holiday Closure - Independence Day (7/4-7/5)
City Hall will be closed Thursday, July 4, 2024 and Friday July 5, 2024 in observance of Independence Day, with no employees available on those days. The Corp. Isaac Rice Bedford Circle 233 of the Ladies of the Grand Army of the Republic is having a fundraiser. The LGAR supports current service personnel, veterans, patriotic events and historical education for children. Wendy’s Restaurant, off the Bedford Interchange of the Pennsylvania Turnpike, will donate 20% of your bill on Wednesday, July 3rd, 10:00 am to 7:00 pm.
