OF Elijah Dunham Named Eastern League Player of the Week For 7/1 – 7/7
Bridgewater, New Jersey - Minor League Baseball has named Somerset Patriots OF Elijah Dunham the Eastern League Player of the Week for games played from July 1-7. Over the Patriots' six-game series vs. Reading, Dunham went 10-for-25 (.400) with 2 HR, 8 RBI, 3 R, and 6 XBH. Dunham began the series with a walk-off double on Monday and concluded the set with homers in back-to-back games, including a go-ahead grand slam on Friday.
Bedford residents asked to conserve water
As a result of the low flows in the Raystown Branch of the Juniata River, created by the ongoing lack of sustained precipitation in the river’s watershed west of Bedford, the Municipal Authority of the Borough of Bedford is requesting that its customers voluntarily conserve water by taking the following minimum steps (recommended by DEP):

The Bedford Post 113 American Legion baseball team rebounded from a tough loss on Sunday with a big win over Nanty Glo, 9-4, on Monday. The Hurricanes struck for 4 runs in the bottom of the first and added 2 runs in the second and 3 in the third for their scoring.
Schellsbburg man sentenced to treatment program
A Schellsburg man was sentenced to a drug treatment program and probation after previously pleading guilty in theft and DUI cases. Ricky Lee Mock, Jr., was sentenced to an in-patient drug treatment program and 2 years of drug treatment court followed by probation.
Joseph C. 'Bud' Ritchey Jr.
BedfordJoseph C. “Bud” Ritchey Jr., 96, of Bedford, died on Wednesday July 10, 2024, at Bedford Skilled Nursing. He was born on August 20, 1927, in Bedford, a son of the late Jospeh C. and Grace Edna (May) Ritchey Sr. On October 28, 1966, in Bedford, he married Florence “Flo” (Koontz) Ritchey who preceded him in death on July 27, 2019.
