Altamont Discusses How County Zoning May Affect City
County zoning has been major topic of discussion in Labette County. The City of Altamont has been closely following the details as the Labette County Planning and Zoning Board sent their recommendations to the Labette County Commission. Altamont Mayor Richard Heyward says city attorney Robert Myers discovered something that affects Idle Hour Lake and the city. The County Commission is set to make a decision on the measure at their July 8th meeting. The City council also heard a report from the Altamont Police Department from Sergeant Christian Powell. In addition to the city's traffic and crime report, Powell had some words of safety for the upcoming 4th of July holiday.
