Police: Four escape injury in gunfire in Lackawanna County
DICKSON CITY, Pa. — Four people escaped injury Tuesday when a gunman shot at their car in Lackawanna County, authorities said. The investigation began around 1:30 a.m. upon reports of gunfire on Commerce Boulevard near Business Route 6 in Dickson City. Borough Police Chief William Bilinski said a man reportedly fired at least twice at a car occupied by four people.

Brief storm causes damage, outages
A brief storm passing through the region on Monday evening saw trees and wires down, which left some PPL customers without power. The weather event meant heavy winds for about fifteen minutes and there were some reports of lightening, according to Thomas Taylor, Lackawanna County Director of Emergency Management. Power outages were felt in Minooka section of Scranton, the Greenwood section of Moosic, Dunmore, and in the area northeast of Lake Scranton. A chance of thunderstorms remains through Wednesday.
