Police: Honesdale pool damage due to lack of winterization, not vandalism
The Honesdale Borough Pool was not damaged by vandalism after all, but by lack of being winterized. An announcement issued in late May by the borough indicated there was significant vandalism discovered at the swimming pool pump house this spring. A borough councilor offered a $500 reward leading to the arrest and conviction of the apparent perpetrator. Borough police were notified.

The body of a missing New Jersey swimmer was recovered Saturday evening from the Delaware River near Milford Beach. Madison Township Trustee Kenneth Gauntner Jr. resigns
Kenneth Gauntner Jr. has resigned as a Madison Township trustee. His departure will mark the end of 50 consecutive years in which he’s worked or served in local government. Gauntner’s final day as trustee will be June 30, which is about 1 1/2 years before his current four-year term expires. He was elected as a Madison Township trustee in 2013, and then won re-election in 2017 and 2021.
