Damian Baranowski killed in Sussex County bicycle accident
SANDYSTON, NJ, (June 29, 2024) - A Pennsylvania bicycle rider died on Saturday afternoon when he was struck by a motorist in Sussex County. New Jersey State Police said that 22-year-old Damian Baranowski of Milford was traveling north on the right shoulder of U.S. Route 206 in Sandyston when, at around 2:50 p.m., he was struck by a Nissan passenger vehicle.

Pa., Tax Rebates to Top 266 Million This Year
The checks are in the mail. Governor Josh Shapiro was in Dunmore on Monday to announce that Pennsylvania is sending 266 million-dollars in tax rebates back to seniors and people with disabilities. The property tax and rent rebate program is expanding this year. The governor says more than 442 thousand people are getting a check from the state. The rebate checks went out on Monday, and if you’re waiting on a check, you can check with the state’s Department of Revenue.

Body of missing New Jersey swimmer recovered from Delaware River near Milford Beach
The body of a missing New Jersey swimmer was recovered Saturday evening from the Delaware River near Milford Beach. According to the National Park Service, 24-year-old Jeysson Ariel Osorio-Reyes of Jackson Township was last seen around 3:15 p.m., about 75 yards from the Pennsylvania shoreline in Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area.

Edwin K. Halewicz 93, of Mount Pocono passed away Monday afternoon in St. Luke’s Hospital Monroe Campus in Stroud Township. Edwin was born in Passaic, New Jersey, a son of the late Joseph and Frances (Holub) Halewicz. Edwin was educated in the New Jersey school system and spent his working career as a union truck driver until his retirement.
N.J. man, 24, drowns during weekend swim in Delaware River Water Gap
A South Jersey man drowned in the Delaware River while swimming off of a beach at a national park in Pennsylvania, officials said Saturday. About four hours after going missing, divers retrieved the body of 24-year-old Jeysson Ariel Osorio-Reyes, of Jackson Township in Ocean County, off Milford Beach at the Delaware Water Gap, National Park Service officials said.
