A Popular Farmers Market Vendor is Opening a Cedar Rapids Cafe
Get ready for a new cafe in SE Cedar Rapids! Thanks to a new article from The Cedar Rapids Gazette, we now know that The Salsa Guy is set to open a brick-and-mortar location!. According to the official Facebook page, The Salsa Guy offers "fresh, high-quality, locally produced salsas, guacamoles, salad dressings, and BBQ sauces." You can typically find them serving up delicious breakfast burritos on 2nd Ave during the Cedar Rapids Downtown Farmers Markets, but they also sell their products inside of local Hy-Vee stores. I know this because I buy a container of their Summer Salsa from the Oakland Road Hy-Vee at least once a month. It's SO GOOD.
Cedar Falls, Iowa, Officials Probe June Ransomware Attack
(TNS) — Cedar Falls officials are investigating a ransomware event that was detected last month, according to a news release issued Wednesday. “The event has not materially affected the City of Cedar Falls' ability to provide public services. Following a short period of controlled downtime, all affected services have been restored at this time,” the prepared statement reads.

DAVENPORT, Iowa (KWQC) -Not everyone in the Quad Cities had a festive Fourth of July this year with firework injuries, polices calls and lost pets. At least 6 people were treated at metro hospitals for fireworks related injuries, 5 at Unity Point and 1 at Genesis. These injuries are just a fraction of the 9,700 people treated for fireworks injuries in ERs last year according to the Consumer Product Safety Commission.

The Winnebago County Conservation Board and the Friends of Winnebago County Conservation. have scheduled a Grand Opening for the new Hanson Nature Center! The 2025 recruiting class for the Iowa Hawkeyes is going to be a bit of a step back from 2024. The Hawkeyes are currently ranked No. 57 nationally by 247Sports' rankings and 17th in the Big Ten. Last year's class had eight four stars in the class and finished 32nd nationally and ninth in the conference.
