Obituary: Edward G. Leahey
Edward G. Leahey passed away on Aug. 6 in Hilton Head, South Carolina, at the age of 87. Ed was born in Far Rockaway, and grew up in Hollis. He attended Cortland State Teachers College. After graduation, he entered the Marine Corps, where he became an officer, and served in both California and the Far East. Following his military service, he became the director of physical education and athletics, at Suffolk County Community College.
