Estes Park’s new mayor plays in a Grateful Dead cover band, climbs 14ers and is working to quiet the town’s turbulence
Gary Hall doesn’t mind saying he’s a pretty hot guitar player. “Music’s been in my blood since my dad woke us up to watch The Beatles on Ed Sullivan in 1964,” Hall said last week as he walked to Estes Park’s Rock Cut Brewery, where he was playing in an acoustic folk trio. “Being in a small town, I get to play a fair amount. Things went according to plan in round one as Denver took care of the Lakers in 5 games. But in round two, they ran into a buzzsaw and choked away the series to the Timberwolves.
Sean Payton says he was probably guilty of marking his territory in first season with Broncos
When Sean Payton joined the Denver Broncos last year, he quickly made it clear to everyone that it would be his way or the highway. Payton promptly kicked quarterback Russell Wilson’s personal QB coach out of the team’s facility, and he also hinted that he was not a fan of Wilson’s frequent hype posts on social media. “I kind of use this term, ‘A little bit more anonymous donors this season,’” Payton said. “Just know that we’re working, but with a little bit less visibility on social media and all those other things. We’re going to get to work, and ultimately, it’s...
