UTV Accident in Belmont Township
The Lafayette County Sheriff’s Department responded to a UTV accident Wednesday around 9:15pm. 51 year old Jodi Thoms of Joliet, Illinois was traveling eastbound on the Cheese Country Trail in Belmont Township on her Polaris UTV when she lost control, entered the ditch and rolled pinning Thoms’ passenger, 64 year old Daniel Hughes of Joliet. Both Thoms and Hughes denied injuries and refused EMS. The UTV had disabling damage and was towed from the scene. Thoms was cited for Operating in a Reckless Manner. Belmont EMS, Belmont Fire, Southwest Health EMS, and a deputy assisted.
One Vehicle Accident in Lafayette County
The Darlington Fire Department and Lafayette County EMS responded to County Highway E in Darlington Township around 9:45pm Friday for a one vehicle accident. 18 year old Calan Meylor of Mineral Point was traveling eastbound on Mineral Road when Meylor failed to stop at a stop sign and went into the ditch, coming to rest in a creek. No injuries were reported and Meylor’s vehicle was towed from the scene with disabling damage.
Platteville Man Arrested For Felony Eluding
Deputies with the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Department responded to HIghway 81 in Seymour Township Thursday around 8:20pm for a traffic complaint. As a result, 19 year old Domminus Anzaldua of Platteville was arrested for Felony Eluding and Felony Recklessly Endangering Safety. Anzaldua was taken to the Lafayette County Jail where he was booked and remains in custody. Anzaldua was also cited for Failure to Stop at a Stop Sign, Speeding, and Operating after Suspension. Darlington Police assisted at the scene.
UTV Crash Injures Three Near Belmont
Three people were transported to the hospital Friday night after a UTV crash. 50 year old Jamie Hille of Mineral Point was traveling on Lake Joy Lane, driving his UTV on Lake Joy Lane in Belmont Township at a high rate of speed. Hille failed to navigate a curve, causing the UTV to leave the roadway and roll over. The Lafayette County Sheriff’s Department said that Hille was operating while intoxicated and is being referred for Operating While Intoxicated, and Causing Bodily Injury. Two passengers were in the UTV with Hille, 45 year old Michelle Swift of Warren, Illinois and 37 year old Chelsea Davis of Dubuque. Swift and Hille were driven to a hospital by Southwest Health EMS for non-life-threatening injuries. Meanwhile, Davis was airlifted for serious non-life threatening injuries.
