LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Fans packed into Loeb Stadium for the first show of the venue's summer concert series Thursday night, where southern rock band 38 Special performed songs stretching over decades.

Opening for 38 Special was local act Henry Lee Summer, from Brazil, Ind., known for his 1988 hit "I Wish I Had a Girl."

Fans of 38 Special will have a chance to catch them again in Indiana when they play the Blue Gate Performing Arts Center in Shipshewana on Friday, July 5.

For the rest of the summer concert series, Loeb Stadium will host Parmalee, "Taylor Shines: The Laser Spectacular" and Lee Brice. Tickets can be purchased at the Long Center's website.
