A Rockaway Township man died due to his injuries days after he crashed his motorcycle in Lafayette on the Fourth of July, police said.

Timothy Angle, 64, was driving a Victory motorcycle east on Monroe Road around 6 p.m. when he went off the roadway while negotiating a curve, according to New Jersey State Police Sgt. Jeffrey Lebron.

The motorcycle overturned and collided with a tree before Angle was ejected from the bike, Lebron said.

The crash remains under investigation and no additional information was provided.

Angle worked for the Rockaway Township Parks and Recreation department and retired in January after 25 years, according to his obituary. He grew up in the Mount Hope section of the township and worked with his father, Fredrick Angle, in the paving business, FJ Angle and Sons. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 91 in Wharton and enjoyed antique cars and snowmobiling.

He is survived by two children, his mother, three brothers and several nieces and nephews. Services were held on July 11 and 12.
