Cornerback Tre’Davious White has missed much of his last two seasons dealing with, first, an ACL tear, then, an Achilles tear. In his post-practice press conference, Sean McVay said White was considered a full participant, but as McVay said “We’ll be modified with his workload, but when he’s out there he is full speed. But to say that he’s going to take 100% of the reps, we’ll be smart in terms of that work progression for him.
It was reported Thursday morning that cornerback Derion Kendrick injured his ACL during Wednesday’s practice. It was unlikely that he would crack the starting rotation but given his experience in live games and the Rams’ lack of depth at the position this will alter the Rams game plan moving forward. Tre’ Tomlinson will likely see more action throughout training camp.
Linebacker Ernest Jones was out in full force for the first day of Rams Training Camp. He missed spring practices dealing with a ‘little issue with his knee.’
Breakout defensive tackle sophomore Kobie Turner was a non-active participant on the first day of the Rams training camp. When asked about his absence McVay said he tweaked his groin in the weight room before practice, but the team has not given him an official injury designation as of yesterday.
“We’re going to be smart with him, he partook in the walkthrough and he’s going to be in the meetings, so we’re going to be smart with him.”
Right guard Kevin Dotson left practice early. When Coach McVay was asked about this he was unaware of why.
“I’m not sure. McVay said. “You know, I’ll have to see. I know he needed to take a little break there and didn’t finish out, but I don’t think it’s anything to be concerned about. Otherwise, I’d probably know about it.”
