As the Los Angeles Rams training camp will kick off at Loyola Marymount University this week, all eyes are on the players who have started to distinguish themselves early on, as well as those who need to step up to secure their spots on the roster.

Players Needing a Strong Rams Training Camp

Tutu Atwell : Despite showing flashes of potential last season, Atwell’s roster spot on this team for the future is far from secure. His limited special teams contributions and inconsistent play, when Cooper Kupp returned from injury, have placed him on the bubble.

With competition from other receivers like Demarcus Robinson , Tyler Johnson , and Jordan Whittington , Atwell needs to prove his worth on both offense and special teams.

Atwell’s speed is an asset, but his ability to translate that into reliable production will be key. He must demonstrate improved route running, catching consistency, and willingness to block, which are crucial for securing a spot in a crowded receiver room. If he wants to stick around with the Rams after his contract is up, he’ll need to have a good season and that starts at Rams training camp.

Logan Bruss : The former third-round pick has struggled to find his footing after missing his rookie season due to injury. The Rams’ additions to the offensive line have put pressure on Bruss to prove he belongs. His ability to stay healthy and adapt to different positions will be crucial for his chances. Bruss must show versatility in playing both guard and tackle positions. Competing against new additions like Beaux Limmer and KT Leveston at Rams training camp, Bruss needs to display strength, technique, and durability to carve out a role on the line.

Russ Yeast : The addition of veteran John Johnson III and the emergence of younger safeties have made Yeast’s position tenuous. With a need to show versatility and special teams prowess, Yeast must have a standout camp to avoid being cut. Yeast’s ability to adapt to multiple roles in the secondary and excel on special teams will be critical. Demonstrating improved coverage skills, tackling, and a strong understanding of the defensive schemes will enhance his chances of making the roster.

Zach Evans : The running back finds himself in a crowded backfield and needs to impress to secure a roster spot. Despite limited opportunities last season, Evans must demonstrate his value during camp to avoid being the odd man out. Evans needs to showcase his rushing abilities, pass protection skills, and versatility in catching passes out of the backfield. Competing with Kyren Williams , rookie Blake Corum , and other established backs, Evans must make a strong case through consistent and impactful play.

As the Rams continue their preparations at Loyola Marymount University, the performances of these standout veterans and bubble players will be critical in shaping the final roster. With competition fierce, training camp remains a pivotal time for many players looking to make their mark.
