Even at the age of 36, as one of the oldest players in the NFL, Matthew Stafford is still one of the greatest quarterbacks in football. He’s only two seasons removed from winning a Super Bowl, but coach Sean McVay will tell you, he believes his starter is the right man to lead the Los Angeles Rams back to the promised land.

Who’s to say he’s wrong? Stafford’s coming off a Pro Bowl season, leading the Rams to the playoffs in a year when many not only counted them out, some expected Coach McVay’s squad to compete for a top-five pick. Obviously, that didn’t happen, and Stafford’s a big reason why.

But when asked to rank the best quarterbacks in the NFL , where do you think Stafford placed among his peers? That’s what NFL Network sets out to do each year. They’ve been slowly revealing the NFL Top 100 rankings in batches, and now we finally know where Stafford ranked after his strong performance last season.

As a reminder, these rankings do not reflect what a player is projected to do this upcoming season. Players were asked to vote on who the best players were during last season. That’s what Matthew Stafford is being graded on.

So, where did the Los Angeles Rams QB rank among his peers? He wasn’t ranked at all last year, missing out on the top 100 while being limited to nine starts. But this time, Stafford earned his respect.

Unfortunately, we don’t know the complete list quite yet, so we don’t know how Stafford compares to the rest of his quarterback peers. However, we do know all the players ranked below him.

One player Rams fans are surely curious about is Detroit Lions QB Jared Goff. Last year, Goff ranked 66th. He climbed this season after leading the Lions to their first playoff victory since the Barry Sanders era in 1991. But he still only ranked 48th , showing that even the QB’s peers still believe an aging Stafford is the better player.
