During his introductory press conference, new Los Angeles Chargers head coach Jim Harbaugh said his first order of business was to go to Home Depot to buy a shop vac so that he could clean up the team’s weight room.

Maya Angelou once said, “When someone shows you who they are, believe them.”

In that small act, Harbaugh showed the world who he is, what he is about. Ever since then, he has been consistently reiterating that.

The newest example comes from an article on The Ringer by Danny Heifetz titled, “ Jim Harbaugh’s Been Born Again in L.A.—but Can He Save the Chargers?

In it, almost as a throwaway, Heifetz writes that Harbaugh has, at times, curated the playlist for the team practices.

“Harbaugh has DJed in practice; players recently came out to “Last Time That I Checc’d” by Nipsey Hussle.”

This not only lines up with the workman and wholistic views Harbaugh takes, but the song selection by local, now deceased, hip hop icon Nipsey Hussle shows that he is in tune with players who are in most cases at least half his age.

It was also reported that the 60 year old Harbaugh joins in on conditioning drills, such as pulling a 300+ pound lineman around on a sled. Kris Rhim of ESPN , reported that he did so at a quicker pace than some of his players.

Harbaugh also dons cleats and wide receiver gloves to help players warm up before practice and games.
