The Los Angeles Rams 2024 season has not gone as planned. Heading into the year, many, including this writer, projected them to be a playoff team and a potential Super Bowl contender. I am not saying that can’t still be the case, but with the myriad of injuries that have plagued the roster, climbing out of a 1-3 hole is going to be a tall task.

Because of how the season has gone, there has been a lot of chatter about star wide receiver Cooper Kupp and whether or not he is expendable.

NFL Insider, Peter Schrager floated the idea on Good Morning Football that the Kansas City Chiefs should think about pursuing Cooper Kupp. The Chiefs offense has looked a bit sluggish this season, and with the season-ending injury to Rashee Rice, Kupp would be a welcomed addition once he is back from injury.

Current Los Angeles Rams wideout, Tutu Atwell, was just on the Up And Adams Show with Kay Adams , and was asked about the possibility of Kupp being dealt.

His answer was, “Coop ain’t going nowhere.”

Now this wouldn’t be the first time that a teammate said one thing and the organization did another, but it is no secret that Cooper Kupp is a huge part of this team, even when he is not on the field. Trading him would certainly signify that the Rams have decided to embrace a full rebuild.

Atwell, largely out of necessity, has found a nice role within the offense in part due to the injuries of Kupp and Puka Nacua.

The 24-year-old receiver has four catches in each of his last two games, going for 93 yards and 82 yards, respectively. He has 223 yards on the season. To put that in perspective, he finished the 2023 season with a total of 483 yards.

The trade deadline is still a month away, so a lot can change until then, but knowing Sean McVay and the Rams organization, they will always be thinking win-now until they are mathematically eliminated from Playoff contention.

Kupp is not on IR but is still considered a few weeks away from returning to the playing field.
