Injuries have already defined this season for the Los Angeles Rams . The first wave of players moved to the injured reserve have started to rejoin the active roster, including defensive tackle Larrell Murchison.

Murchison was placed on injured reserve after training camp due to a forearm injury. He missed the first four games of the season but was expected to return soon after being activated to the 21-day practice window. Just days after that, he broke his foot and was placed back on the IR.

“It’ll be a semantic thing and then we’ll end up putting him back on IR,” head coach Sean McVay said. “Poor guy broke his foot the first day back from practice. What we’ll do will enable us to not necessarily have to burn him for the year. It’ll be semantics that you guys will see in terms of the transaction, so a bummed for him. He’s worked really hard, but he’ll continue to do it.”

In response to losing him, the Rams signed defensive lineman Jonah Williams . Williams played for the Rams last season playing over 50 percent of the team’s defensive snaps. He racked up 50 tackles, including two sacks.

“There’s a possibility that Jonah could be up and ready to go,” McVay said. “He has a familiarity with what we’ve done, so getting him out here today at practice and then we’ll see exactly what that looks like. I’ll kind of be able to look at that with the coaches after today.”

The Rams defensive line has struggled both getting to quarterbacks and stopping the run.

Let's face facts. The Rams are a walking triage. You can't go into battle with so many men on the side lines. If you go 500 for the season I will be surprised.
