USC Trojans ‘ top recruiting target, five-star defensive lineman Jahkeem Stewart has shaken up the college football recruiting scene by announcing his decision to reclassify from the 2026 class to the 2025 class. This move makes him immediately eligible to be recruited by college programs.

Stewart, now ranked as the No. 3 defensive lineman and No. 18 overall player in the 2025 class by 247Sports , has his sights set on four top programs: Ohio State, Oregon, LSU, and USC Trojans.

Standing at 6-foot-6 and weighing 270 pounds, Stewart possesses a rare combination of size and athleticism. He dominated during his sophomore season in 2023, recording an impressive 85 tackles, 33 tackles for loss, and 20 sacks. His ability to disrupt plays from both the edge and the interior makes him a highly coveted prospect.

Stewart’s camp has raved about his performance against stiff competition.

“He’s been dominating four- and five-star prospects since seventh grade,” Stewarts Coach said. “Some of those kids are in the NFL now, and [Stewart] still had two more years of high school. Every head coach, coordinator and [defensive line coach] has him as the No. 1 player on their board regardless of class.”

Stewart’s reclassification was made possible by his transfer from St. Augustine High School in New Orleans to Edna Karr High School. While this transfer makes him ineligible to play for Edna Karr in 2024, it opened the door for him to join the 2025 recruiting class.

Stewart has already lined up visits to all four of his finalists. He’ll start with a trip to Oregon on October 12th to witness the Ducks take on Ohio State. Then, he’ll travel to Columbus in November to see the Buckeyes campus. Visits to LSU and USC Trojans are also planned before the end of November, giving him a chance to get a first-hand look at each program.
