The Los Angeles Chargers started off their season 2-0 and were playing a brand of football that fans were not used to seeing. They were running the ball well, playing smashmouth defense, and finishing games. They flew up the power rankings, and many pundits were already saying they were a true contender.

Well, in true Chargers fashion, the injuries began mounting and the team dropped their next two games to fall back to earth and a .500 record.

Now coming off of their bye week, the Chargers should get some players back ahead of their matchup with division rival Denver Broncos. So where do they sit in the latest NFL Power Rankings?

Coming off of the bye, the Chargers will face the red-hot Denver Broncos who have won 3 straight games. The game will be played in Denver where the Bolts have lost 5 straight.

High-ankle sprains take a long time to fully heal, but Justin Herbert should be feeling much better than the last time he took the field. He is off to one of the worst starts of his career and now goes against a Denver defense that has been dominant all season.

The Broncos are 3rd in total defense allowing 271.2 yards per game, and 5th in passing defense allowing 159.8 yards per game.

The Chargers offense has struggled to find a rhythm over their two-game losing streak, especially in the passing game. The running game has been better, but with Herbert as the QB, fans are hopeful that they can start to push the ball down the field. It will be tough to change that against the Broncos.
