Saturday night’s Game 2 World Series matchup between the New York Yankees and Los Angeles Dodgers featured the home team taking a 2-0 series lead thanks to a 4-2 win. But the biggest storyline that emerged was Shohei Ohtani’s injury.

The NL MVP favorite suffered a partially dislocated shoulder injury while sliding into second base in the bottom of the seventh inning. Playing DH as he has all season, Ohtani still had to leave the game.

The uncertainty surrounding Ohtani’s injury set up a cloudy road trip as the Dodgers get ready to play in Yankee Stadium for the first time during this series. But the biggest question on everyone’s mind, will Ohtani play in Game 3 on Monday night?

Shohei Ohtani continues to show he’s just not human. Not in any way, shape or form. At least not on the baseball diamond.

He may have suffered a partial shoulder subluxation, but according to manager Dave Robert, Shohei Ohtani will be playing on Monday night in Game 3.

“(Shohei Ohtani is) in a great spot and will be playing in game 3 tomorrow.”

Obviously, this is the best news possible for the Dodgers, who are eyeing a commanding 3-0 series lead over the Yankees with another win. Having just nine plate appearances in his World Series cameo thus far, Ohtani is hitting just .125, with his lone hit being a double. He’s also drawn a walk and struck out twice.

Now dealing with a shoulder injury, we’ll see what the baseball icon has in store for the rest of the series.
