On July 25, 2024, around 1:40 p.m. LaGrange Fire Department firefighters responded to a house fire at 900 North Parkway.

Firefighters were informed flames and smoke were seen coming from the outside of the home, and someone might be trapped inside.

Both the LaGrange Fire Department and Troup County Fire Department arrived shortly afterward to find fire coming from mostly the front side of the house but they were able to confirm from the homeowners that everyone had safely exited the building.

Fire crews immediately shifted their focus from rescue operations to battling the fire via a hose and entered the house to control the flames while searching the front two rooms under heavy fire conditions.

Another fire unit arrived soon after and thoroughly searched the home under challenging conditions of high heat and limited visibility, confirming that no one was left inside.

Additional firefighters worked together to assist with the search and to set up a team ready to help if any firefighters needed assistance.

The fire was successfully extinguished and under control by 2:22 p.m., approximately 38 minutes after the first firefighters arrived.

According to LFD, an estimated $25,000 in damage to the property and its contents.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported as a result of the incident.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
