Waco Animal Shelter hosting Empty the Shelters event
WACO, Texas — The Waco Animal Shelter is having another round of Empty The Shelters National Adoption Event through Wednesday, July 31. Dogs and cats over 1-year-old are free to adopt while puppies and kittens under 1-year-old are $50. Normally, the pets over the age of 1 are $70 and $100 for those under 1.
Search is on for possible Lake Waco drowning victim
Waco, Tx (FOX 44) – The search resumed on Thursday morning for a man feared to have drowned while fishing at Lake Waco. Waco Police Department spokesman Bryton Johnson said around 6 p.m. Wednesday, police and fire units were sent to the area of the Lake Waco Dam spillway on a report of a man falling down the bank while fishing and not resurfacing. Boats from the Waco Fire Department and Texas Department of Public Safety Game Warden were joined by the McLennan County Sheriff’s Office’s helicopter, searching extensively in the area without success.
