HART Receives Bids To Build Elevated Rail Line
HONOLULU – Honolulu Authority for Rapid Transit (HART) plans to award a contract to build the elevated rail line through Honolulu’s city center in August. According to the Civil Beat, HART has not yet commented on the number of proposals it received this week “or whether those bids are affordable.” In 2023, HART estimated the cost of the 3-mile segment and six stations, also known as the City Center Guideway and Stations, would be between $1.1 billion and $1.4 billion. However, the cost of materials and labor have increased. When asked, Director of government relations and public involvement for HART, Joey Manahan, said, “HART will be able to share the information once the contract is awarded.”

HONOLULU (Island News) -- Since this morning's advisory, Bud's organization on satellite remains mostly unchanged. The easterly wind shear that was affecting the storm has weakened somewhat, allowing the center to align under the central area of thunderstorms. The latest intensity estimates suggest Bud maintains winds around 50 knots, based on observations and model data.
New 2-in-1 appliances for UH Mānoa student residents
Brand new MicroFridges, combination microwave/refrigerators, are now included in all of the rooms and/or suite areas at University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa residence halls except for the Hale Wainani Apartments. More than 1,400 of the energy efficient appliances will be installed by the start of the fall 2024 semester by Student Housing Services (SHS) and Campus Operations and Facilities.

HONOLULU — A new 50-year lease at Kawaihāpai Airfield (PHDH), formerly known as Dillingham Airfield, assures the continued operation of the airport.
