Patchy clouds and fog will impact coastal areas this morning. Highs will be in the upper 70s and 80 from the beaches to downtown Los Angeles, 91 to 100 in the San Fernando and Antelope valleys, the mid-80s to lower-90s in the San Gabriel Valley, and 93 to 100 in the Santa Clarita Valley. The inland deserts will be hovering around 100 to 110 degrees with lows in the 80s.

Almost all areas will be 3 to 5 degrees of warmer today compared to yesterday. Valleys will be a few degrees above normal, while the coasts and the interior will be a few degrees below normal.

According to the National Weather Service there will be a four day warming trend beginning Sunday. Max temperatures will climb 1 to 3 degrees per day Sunday through Tuesday. By Wednesday the only 70s will be right at the beaches, with 80s and lower 90s across the rest of the coasts. Valleys will see temperatures between the 90s and low-100s.

Triple digit heat will be present across the far interior and lower mountains too. Though still warm these temperatures should be a few degrees below critical heat advisory thresholds.

    This day in history

On this day in 1918, an unseasonable cold front went through the region, producing some of the lowest maximum temperatures on record

    Things to do

It's the perfect weather for an evening spent out and about. Here something to do that will help you take advantage of the beautiful weather :

    • Venice Art Crawl : Historic Venice Canals Venice — Venice Art Crawl’s summer event in the Venice Canals makes this big city feel small, with dozens of artists showing work in the front patios of many homes. The compact area makes it easy to wander one of the most hidden and picturesque areas in L.A., and neighbors always open their doors to share art, drinks, conversation, and music.
