Your SoCal Weather Report For Friday, August 16: Cooling over the weekend, warmer weather next week

Happy Friday! It will be a sunny start to the weekend except for patchy low clouds and fog in the morning. Highs should be in the 80s to around 90 from the beaches to downtown Los Angeles, 92 to 100 in the San Fernando Valley.

Meanwhile, in the San Gabriel Valley temperatures will hit the upper-80s to mid-90s, the lower-to-mid-90s in the Santa Clarita Valley and 94 to 101 in the Antelope Valley. Air quality will mainly be in the moderate to unhealthy for sensitive groups range.

A cooling trend and increased onshore flow will continue through the weekend, followed by some warming in the early half of next week.

Meanwhile, an onshore push to the east will cool the coasts a few degrees. Northerly flow will bring warmer air into the interior where max temperatures will warm 3 to 4 degrees.

By Tuesday afternoon the only 70s should be at the beaches with 80s and lower 90s across the rest of the coasts. Valleys will see maximum temperatures from 92 to 104 degrees.

There will triple digit heat across the far interior and lower mountain elevations as well. Those temps are about 6 degrees above normal. While it will be warm, it should pose only a moderate heat risk.

The seven-acre space is home to visual and media arts studios to explore and the event hosts food vendors like Tortacos, Watts Waffles, Magnolia Street Kitchen, and more.
