Best things to do this week in LA and SoCal: September 16 - 19

I hope everyone is staying safe through the fires (not to mention that shaker last week!). If you're able to help, whether by hosting someone who has evacuated or donating to support victims in L.A. County and further afield, spending time being a good neighbor is always the best thing to do.

Fortunately, the heat has finally broken, which should help – and there’s lots to enjoy this week after so many events the last couple of weeks were postponed or canceled.

To name a few: Brooklyn indie band The Babies are back together for a reunion show at the Teragram, there’s an L.A. Story movie tribute art exhibit at Hauser & Wirth in WeHo, and comedian John Early is at The Bellwether. Plus, Wednesday is National Cheeseburger Day, so get your order ready for some great deals. There’s also a full moon hike in Griffith Park Monday night under the super moon.

For more to explore, visit LAist.com, where you can learn to overcome your anxiety about dining solo and get tips on where to have a great meal on your own. Plus, some of our favorite chefs are heading to LAist's Crawford Theater on Thursday, so reserve your tickets to see Antonia Lofaso (Scopa Italian Roots, Top Chef ), Lien Ta (All Day Baby), and Danielle Duran-Zecca (Amiga Amore) chat about the L.A. food scene, plus enjoy bites from Guerilla Tacos and Flouring L.A.
