Best things to do this weekend in LA and SoCal: October 18 - 21

When I first moved to Los Angeles, I was a "just moved here" cliche — I read Mike Davis's City of Quartz cover to cover, watched Chinatown more than once, and listened to Ryan Adams' " La Cienega Just Smiled " on repeat. So it's no surprise that L.A. history events like the Archives Bazaar this weekend at USC, where you can learn all about the checkered history of water in L.A., or the Venice Heritage Museum Film Festival, which is showing short films new and old about the neighborhood, are up my alley and hopefully yours, too.
