STERLING HEIGHTS, Mich. (CBS DETROIT) - An 80-year-old man with dementia was rescued thanks to Sterling Heights police and their K-9 officers. Hudson-Webber Foundation announces grants totaling $2.6 million
The Hudson-Webber Foundation in Detroit has announced grants totaling $2.6 million to nonprofit organizations across the city. Grants were awarded to 10 organizations driving change and leading programs that impact city residents. Awards include $405,000 to The Parade Company in support of America’s Thanksgiving Parade, a Detroit tradition that celebrates its centennial this year; $300,000 to the Belle Isle Conservancy in support of Belle Isle Park; and $200,000 to CHN Housing Partners to boost implementation capacity of the Detroit Housing Network and its single-family housing strategy in neighborhoods across Detroit. Additional recipients include the Museum of Contemporary Art Detroit, which was awarded $100,000 to increase engagement with and representation of Detroit’s diverse population; and the City of Detroit, which will receive a $500,000 grant in support of the City of Detroit Down Payment Assistance Program (DPA), which offers affordable homeownership opportunities to low- and moderate-income residents.
