CHICAGO — The city has become a stopping point for pigeons amid racing season for the birds — many of whom are being found in the area, exhausted and hungry, birders said. Natalie Quist, a board member of the Great Lakes Pigeon Rescue, said many pigeon races occur in Indiana, and the birds have to pass through the Chicago area to get home.
