Many of us had hope for Desmond Ridder last year. The Falcons' opening-day starter showed some progress in his four starts as a rookie, the playmakers around him, and the offensive line to keep him upright. Ultimately, things did not turn out well for the quarterback and, eventually, the team.

LYNCHBURG, VA. – In a hard-fought match Sunday afternoon at Osborne Stadium, the Georgia State Panthers broke a 1-1 tie with a goal during the 73rd minute to edge the Liberty Flames 2-1. After a scoreless first half, Liberty struck for the game's first and only goal when Georgia State goalkeeper Josh Hangi misplayed a ball inside the six-yard box less than five minutes into the second half. Forward Gora Gora pushed the ball into the back of the net for a 1-0 lead.
