A portion of Downing Avenue is set to honor the late Larry Meredith, the Erie lawyer, community advocate and the first Black city resident elected to Erie City Council. Council, during its regular meeting on Wednesday night, approved a resolution sponsored by Councilman Mel Witherspoon that designates a portion of Downing Avenue adjacent to Rodger Young Park as "Larry Meredith Way."

Upcoming! July Brings New Opportunities: Target Announces Upcoming Store Openings
WFCN – On July 21, mass retailer Target Corp. will launch three new locations in California, Missouri, and Pennsylvania, expanding its network of over 2,000 stores. Target plans to open a shop in Lomita, California. This will be the company’s 318th outlet in California and its 127th in the Los Angeles, Long Beach, and Anaheim area. The Lomita store, which will employ about 70 people, is about 33,000 square feet and is located at 2130 Pacific Coast Highway. It will be open from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., seven days a week.
