Fire crews continue work Toll and Adams fires
North Bay fire crews continued Thursday to mop up two fires in Napa and Lake counties that ignited earlier this week. The Toll Fire, which erupted Tuesday morning less than 3 miles from downtown Calistoga, was at 41 acres and 50% contained as of Thursday afternoon, said Cal Fire spokesperson Jason Clay.

Woman killed in Lake County crash ID’d
Authorities identified a 76-year-old woman who died in early June after a pickup truck she was driving went off a Lake County highway and crashed into a tree. Linda Jean Smith, of Lakeport, was traveling about 65 mph in a Toyota Tacoma north on Highway 29 when the truck traveled across the median and southbound lanes, went through a barbed wire fence, crossed Mountainview Road and drove down an embankment before crashing.
