Lake County Economic Development Corporation Seeking Input on Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy
Lake County Economic Development Corporation is seeking input from the community in preparation for the submission of a five-year Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) to the U.S. Department of Commerce Economic Development Administration (EDA). The main objective of the Lake County CEDS is to foster an environment that promotes a sustainable economic future for both the businesses and residents in the County and Cities of Lakeport and Clearlake. This strategy will play a pivotal role in directing investment decisions relating to infrastructure, public works, enhanced safety and resiliency measures, workforce training, and initiatives aimed at generating employment opportunities.
Heatwave to Leave Several Customers in North Bay Without Power (But Not Sonoma County)
The incoming heatwave could cause a lot of stress to the grid. The potential Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) event is anticipated to begin early Tuesday morning and could last through Wednesday. It affects approximately 12,000 customers, including two tribal governments, in targeted parts of eight counties. In the North Bay, it would be 49 customers in Lake County and 9 in Napa, so 58 total. 96 customers in Solano County may also lose power.
Red flag warning issued for portions of North Bay
Temperatures spiking into the 100s with low humidity and breezy conditions may support fire growth this week across the North Bay, according to the National Weather Service. The weather service issued a red flag warning, indicating an elevated risk of wildfires, that will go into effect at 11 p.m. Monday for areas of Sonoma, Napa and Lake counties.
