Lake County man killed after crashing into dump truck in Orange County
A Lake County man was killed when his pickup ran into the back of a dump truck Friday morning in Orange County. The 30-year-old Astatula man was driving a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado westbound on Jones Avenue west of Jewel Foliage Road at about 5:30 a.m. Friday, according to a press release from the Florida Highway Patrol. At the same time, a 38-year-old Eustis man was at the wheel of a dump truck also traveling westbound on Jones Avenue west of Jewel Foliage Road ahead of the Silverado.
Florida man admits to shooting at Walmart delivery drone, damaging payload
A Florida man is facing multiple charges after authorities say he shot at a Walmart delivery drone. The shooting happened in Clermont, about 26 miles west of Orlando. The Lake County Sheriff's Office received a complaint about the ordeal Wednesday, the office said in a Facebook post. According to the caller, a bullet hole was found in the payload the drone was carrying.

911 dispatchers receive calls after man allegedly attacks parent
A Sorrento man was arrested after allegedly punching one parent and taking off with money and a vehicle belonging to the other. The Lake County 911 Center and the Volusia County 911 Center received multiple calls from an undisclosed Sorrento area early Wednesday morning, according to an arrest report from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office. A deputy responded to the area of the calls and was updated about an altercation that had taken place between family members.

A Fruitland Park man was arrested after being caught driving a golf cart as a way of getting around the DUI suspension on his license. A deputy was patrolling the area of Kings Cove, a neighborhood in Fruitland Park, around 2:06 p.m. Tuesday, according to an arrest report from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office. The unit had numerous complaints of road vehicles and golf carts on the roads in that neighborhood, which is not a designated golf cart community.
