There were many consequences in store for the driver who was clocked at over twice the speed limit on a public Indiana road. I remember my first speeding ticket very vividly. I was 18 years old and driving on US-150 from Daviess County, Indiana, to Knox County, Indiana, in a beat-up Chevy Cavalier. It was during my second semester at Vincennes University, and I was trying to make it back to town in time for class. I worked late the night before, was extremely tired, and wasn't paying the best attention to my speedometer. About halfway to Vincennes, I heard sirens and saw red and blue lights in my rearview mirror. Thinking the officer was on his way to an emergency, I slowed down and moved onto the shoulder so he could pass me. However, he stayed behind me, and eventually I came to a stop.

LOWELL, Ind. – Coldwell Banker Commercial Realty announced the $7 million sale of a 234-acre undeveloped parcel in northwest Lowell, Ind., that will be the future site of a 1.2-million-square-foot John Deere warehouse/distribution facility. Located at 2105 W. 181st Ave. in Lowell, near the Illinois/Indiana border, it will be one of the largest buildings in Lake County, Indiana.
Lake County Gas Station Shooting: Woman Dead, Man Injured in Attack
Gary, IN – A woman was fatally shot and a man was injured early Friday in separate but related incidents at a gas station, police said. According to the Gary Police Department, officers responded to a call about a possible gunshot victim in the 700 block of Clay Street at approximately 1:15 a.m. Shortly thereafter, additional calls reported ongoing gunfire near a gas station at 4900 Melton Road. Officers arriving at the scene found several shell casings in the area.

A Fortune 100 company got approval to build a $125 million, 1.2 million-square-foot warehouse at Interstate 65 and Route 2 near Lowell. Rosemont-based developer Venture One Real Estate secured approval from the Lake County Planning Commission to build the massive warehouse, which would be occupied by a single company. Attorney Jim Wieser, who's representing the developer, said it would it would be occupied by a single company that would use it as its Midwest distribution center.
