Dean is a senior in his third varsity football season. “My first year on varsity was the year we went 0-9,” Dean said. “Last year we went 2-7.” He was encouraged with the improvement the Bucks made from his first to second season and is hoping for more this year. “We have a bunch of fast strong guys and we look better,” Dena said. “We have the potential” Dean plays left guard and outside linebacker. At left guard, “I get off the ball pretty well, he said. “I pull a lot. I like to think I’m smart when I play linebacker and in making the decision.” Dean likes his tackling abilities and being able to anticipate where the ball is going.” The Bucks open the season at home on Aug. 29. “We’re strong and athletic,” &nbsp;Dean said. “ We have experience. We have a pretty tough conference. We can’t let them score touchdowns and have to play together as a team.” Pine River had a summer camp at Clare plus an overnighter. Dean also plays basketball and baseball but said football is his best and favorite sport. </div></body>
