16-year-old accused of shooting Tacoma police officer could be charged as an adult, judge says
TACOMA, Wash. — A Pierce County judge ruled Monday that a 16-year-old accused of shooting a police officer in Tacoma could be charged as an adult. The ruling stems from a shooting last August when a Tacoma police officer was conducting an emphasis patrol on recovering stolen vehicles. He encountered two 15-year-olds at the time suspected of stealing a car.

A few years ago there was a sponsored marathon series but there just isn’t enough horses that go long at Emerald Downs so the organizers behind this effort switched to a sprint series which there are plenty eligible to run in.

TACOMA, Wash. — The Tacoma Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting that happened near Interstate 5 Monday night. According to police, officers found a man with gunshot wounds on East 28th Street just before 8 p.m. First responders attempted life-saving measures, but the man died before he could be taken to a local hospital.
Seattle Man Receives 23-Year Sentence For Unprovoked Hammer Attack At Bus Stop
Christopher Martin, a man with a history of assaulting individuals at transit stations, has been sentenced to 23 and a half years in prison for the murder of Shawn Grenzebach, who was fatally struck in the head with a hammer at a downtown Seattle bus stop last year. Martin, 36, pleaded guilty to second-degree murder, and prosecutors described the attack as unprovoked and brutal.

SEATTLE — The Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT) adjusted street parking rates on Monday. Under the new rates, about half of paid parking zones remain the same price. Several zones are decreasing in price by 50 cents an hour, and the rest are increasing by 50 cents per hour.

Unexpected Wallaby Chase in Parkland Leads to Whimsical Police Pursuit and Safe Capture
An unexpected escape artist prompted an early morning chase in Parkland as law enforcement officials were tasked with wrangling a wallaby that had found its way onto a local road. Per The Seattle Times, the call came in around 6:40 a.m., leading Washington State Patrol troopers and Pierce County deputies to 158th Street East and B Street East. Nonprofits to build affordable housing near Mount Baker station
More than 400 new housing units will be built near the Link Light Rail Mount Baker station, including affordable housing. The City of Seattle Office of Housing announced a partnership with Mercy Housing Northwest and El Centro de la Raza to develop these new housing units to “promote community-centered development” in the neighborhood, according to a press release.
