TACOMA, Wash. — A Pierce County judge ruled Monday that a 16-year-old accused of shooting a police officer in Tacoma could be charged as an adult. The ruling stems from a shooting last August when a Tacoma police officer was conducting an emphasis patrol on recovering stolen vehicles. He encountered two 15-year-olds at the time suspected of stealing a car.

According to police, officers found a man with gunshot wounds on East 28th Street just before 8 p.m. First responders attempted life-saving measures, but the man died before he could be taken to a local hospital.
Seattle Man Receives 23-Year Sentence For Unprovoked Hammer Attack At Bus Stop
Christopher Martin, a man with a history of assaulting individuals at transit stations, has been sentenced to 23 and a half years in prison for the murder of Shawn Grenzebach, who was fatally struck in the head with a hammer at a downtown Seattle bus stop last year. Martin, 36, pleaded guilty to second-degree murder, and prosecutors described the attack as unprovoked and brutal.

SEATTLE — The Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT) adjusted street parking rates on Monday. Under the new rates, about half of paid parking zones remain the same price. Several zones are decreasing in price by 50 cents an hour, and the rest are increasing by 50 cents per hour.
