Ripon Fire District goes without ambulances amid staffing shortage
RIPON, Calif. — In just a few seconds Friday, more people drove past Ripon Consolidated Fire District Station 1 than the number of first responders on duty inside. "Currently we have one station staffed full-time serving a population of just over 20,000," said Battalion Chief Pat Burns. "We are short. We are down to four people on duty today.”

4 brothers found safe after going missing in Palmdale nearly 3 weeks ago, authorities say
Four brothers between the ages of 2-5 years old have been found safe after they went missing in Palmdale nearly three weeks, authorities said Saturday.The children were found at a family member's home in California City and have been placed in the care of the Department of Children and Family Services, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department's Palmdale station.Authorities said the children's parents were arrested on unrelated charges. Before the brothers went missing, the parents missed a court date which sparked DCFS to search for the children, authorities said.The four boys were previously last seen around 2 p.m. July 1 in the 800 block of East P-12, and investigators suspected at the time they were taken to Mojave, according to the Sheriff's Department.Deputies identified the siblings as 4-year-old Kase Brown, 4-year-old Kai Brown, 2-year-old Kay'den Brown and 5-year-old Koen Brown. BAKERSFIELD, Calif. --- (KBAK/FOX58) The global IT outage is having its impacts on Kern County. Those impacted include the City of Bakersfield, Kern County Fire Department, and Meadows Field Airport. All of which suffered technical difficulties, but resolved their issues by Friday morning. However, not all local agencies recovered immediately.
Police Union President Named To Peace Officer Standards Panel
The president of the Richmond police union has been appointed to the California Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training by Gov. Gavin Newsom. Benjamin Therriault, a sergeant in the Richmond Police Department, was named Friday to the panel, which sets minimum selection and training standards for California law enforcement.
