WINNEBAGO COUNTY, Iowa – A driver died in a rollover crash Wednesday night while trying to get away from law enforcement in northern Iowa.

A crash report from the Iowa State Patrol said it happened in Winnebago County, just west of Lake Mills, around 10:00 p.m. The ISP says the driver of a 2005 Lincoln LS sedan was ”actively fleeing” law enforcement on US 69 when they lost control of the vehicle in a curve near 212th Ave. and the vehicle went into the ditch and rolled.

16-year-old stabbed brother to death, Des Moines police say

The driver was ejected and died from injuries received in the crash.

The ISP has not released the name of the driver or what prompted the start of the pursuit.

The investigation into the incident continues.
