    July Jubilee features loads of family fun

    A busy weekend is planned in Lake Mills for the annual July Jubilee festival. Whether it’s parades or street dances, corn hole tournaments or fun in the park, there’s something for all ages.

    July Jubilee this year will be Friday through Sunday with the weekend kicking off Thursday with an outdoor movie starting between 9 and 9:30 p.m. at Oakwood Park.

    Here’s the full schedule:

    Friday

    11 a.m. to 1 p.m.: MBT Bank customer appreciation cookout

    5 to 7 p.m.: Wine tasting and hors d’oeuvres with the Lake Mills Area Historical Society, 308 S. Lincoln St. Cost is $20 per person, which includes a commemorative wine glass and hors d’oeuvres.

    6 to 9 p.m.: Community Night in downtown Lake Mills with free family fun and free entertainment. Grab a bite to eat and hang out.

    6 to 9 p.m.: Live music at 5 Alarm Brewing Co., 211 W. Main St.

    6:30 to 7:30 p.m.: Little Mr. and Ms. July Jubilee Contest, downtown Lake Mills. Winners will get to help lead the annual July Jubilee parade on Saturday.

    9 p.m.: DJ after-party with Dietrich Entertainment

    Saturday

    10:30 a.m.: July Jubilee Parade along East Main Street, South Lake Street and South 10th Avenue East

    11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.: Parents for D.C. picnic fundraiser, Oakwood Park. There will also be free entertainment for children

    11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.: Fun in the park, Oakwood Park

    Noon: Men’s slow pitch softball tournament, Leonard Fjelstad Sports Complex

    12:30 p.m.: Lake Mills Fire Department Cornhole Tournament Fundraiser in front of 5 Alarm Brewing Co., 211 W. Main St.

    1 p.m.: Kid power sanctioned pedal pull, Oakwood Park

    6 to 9 p.m.: Live music at Lazy Acre Vineyard, 4776 Bluebill Ave.

    8 to 11:30 p.m.: The Hype! —includes five mini-concerts with over three hours of ’80s glam rock

    Sunday

    8 a.m. to noon: American Legion breakfast fundraiser, Ole’s Office, 205 N. Mill St.

    9 a.m.: Men’s slow pitch softball tournament, Truman Helgeson Civic Center, 227 W. Main St.

    3 p.m.: Movies at The Mills Theater, 216 W. Main St., free popcorn
