EDGERTON — Addie Ninneman and Mollie Cooper scored two goals apiece as Lake Mills’ girls soccer team extended its program-record win streak to 10 games with a 7-0 nonconference win at Edgerton on Friday.

The L-Cats (15-2) built a three-goal halftime edge on Ninneman’s goal in the third minute, followed by 25th minute goals from Greta Wiedenfeld and Mckenna Klubertanz.

Cooper scored in the 63rd and 70th minutes with Ninneman (71st) and Sophia Guerrero (80th) also scoring after halftime.

Lake Mills keeper Milan Fullerton made two saves to record her sixth straight clean sheet.

The shutout is the L-Cats’ 13th of the season, a new program record, and the team’s ninth in their past 10 games.

“I think this week we showed we’re really starting to peak, and with the postseason around the corner, I couldn’t be more excited for this group,” Lake Mills girls soccer coach Jeff Hegstrom said. “Tonight, we created for one another a ton, and the teamwork, especially through the mids and into the forwards, was incredible.

“Every goal was well earned and well struck. A huge congratulations tonight to Milan and our defensive unit led by Sophia, Ayla Buth, Emma Kitsembel, and Annalyse Fuglestad (among others), for earning our 13th shutout this season, which breaks last year’s single-season record.

“Our defense takes a lot of pride in not allowing the other team to get many great opportunities, and we’re spoiled that they bring that energy every single night.”
