LAKE MILLS — Music in the Mills is returning for the second year this weekend, with more activities for everyone.

The event, which will take place Saturday, will feature music all day long, along with food and activities for all ages, according to chair of the organizing committee, Amy Winkelman.

Music in the Mills will begin at 9:30 a.m. on the Seljan grounds, and will be free admission for everyone.

There will be a kids craft area, and the Lake Mills Fire Department will be bringing their fire truck for a pop up splash pad. Additionally, community kids have submitted artwork for a silent auction so attendees can bid on art for an opportunity to bring it home at the end of the day.

“I’m super excited,” Winkelman said. “Some of the student submissions have been absolutely phenomenal.”

The Rotary Club will also be providing food and beverages for purchase throughout the day, along with hosting vendors from community businesses. Some of these vendors include Elsie Mae’s Sweet Shop, Optimal PT, Sunset Animal Sanctuary and the Wisconsin Bike Federation.

Money raised at the event will go towards Rotary Club scholarships for local high school students to put towards college.

There will be several bands throughout the day. Music will begin at 10 a.m. and the last performer will go until around 9:30 p.m. Winkelman encourages people to come out and experience the music and activities.

“I just think it’s a good Saturday afternoon activity,” Winkelman said, adding that it’s a good opportunity to spend time with friends and family, with activities for kids and adults to enjoy.

Winkelman said this event could not have been organized without everyone on the committee. Solthaya Bord coordinated sponsors. Anita Martin, Jennifer Hollis and Hanna Uecke were in charge of marketing and advertising. Entertainment was organized by Jenny McAdow and Bob Ganzow. Brian Benisch coordinated food and beverage. Pam Morris and John Black did logistics, Linda Jeffers organized volunteers, and Andy Barnes and James Welters coordinated vendors.
