COTTAGE GROVE — Lakeside Lutheran’s girls golf team finished its season by shooting 406 to place sixth at Monday’s WIAA Division 2 sectional held at The Oaks Golf Course.

Lakeside senior Reagan Gebhart shot 86 on the par-72 layout to tie for fourth individually. She lost a 2-for-1 sudden death playoff for the final individual state qualifying berth. Gebhart made a bogey five on the par-4 first hole, while Southwestern junior Brooklyn Bussan made par to advance.

Gebhart posted a front-nine 44 and a back-nine 42. Bussan shot a back-nine 39 with a pair of birdies on the par-3 10th and par-3 13th holes to move up the leaderboard on a day when there were only two sub-40 nine-hole tallies recorded.

Senior Tessa Schmocker and Bella Roman both shot 106 for the Warriors while senior Gabby Schmid shot 108. Senior Kayla Hirschfeld’s round of 113 was not counted.

Lancaster junior Lynell Miller shot 81 to win the 54-golfer event by three strokes over Aquinas senior Tennysen Makepeace. Both players advanced to state individually.
