Twelve area players were honored in Capitol North softball all-conference voting held recently.
Lake Mills senior pitcher Ava Kleinfeldt swept the league’s Player of the Year and Pitcher of the Year honors, joining former teammate Taylor Roughen (2021) as L-Cats who have accomplished that feat.
Kleinfeldt, a second-team selection last season and University of St. Thomas recruit, pitched 102 1/3 innings, striking out 118 against 12 walks. Kleinfeldt, whose record was 14-1, posted an ERA of 1.37. At the dish, she hit .443 with a team-leading slugging percentage of .787. Kleinfeldt also led the L-Cats in extra-base hits (18) and RBIs (36).
Lake Mills junior infielders Haydenn Sellnow and Savannah Radtke and sophomore catcher Lily Doerr and Lakeside Lutheran senior pitcher Kieghtan Rank and sophomore catcher Keyanna Rank were also first-team picks.
Sellnow, who picked up her third first team all-league honor, hit .376, scored 31 runs, drove in 28, totaling 12 extra-base hits including a pair of homers and swiped five bags.
Radtke, who burst onto the scene this spring, led Lake Mills in batting average (.460), hits (40) and runs scored (37), adding nine stolen bases.
Doerr, a second-team pick last year, hit .432 and had 11 extra-base knocks including a team-high three home runs.
Kieghtan Rank, a second-team honoree last season who will play collegiately at Wisconsin Lutheran College, pitched 116 1/3 innings over 19 games and went 11-6. She posted an ERA of 2.47, striking out 141 against just 12 walks. She also hit .310 and had an OBP of .459.
Keyanna Rank led the team in batting average (.381). She had an OBP of .409, OPS of 1.012 and slugging percentage of .603, tallying nine extra-base hits including two home runs while driving in 11.
Lake Mills seniors Taylor Wollin and Emily Wollin and Lakeside Lutheran senior Abby Meis and sophomore Kooper Killmon were second-team selections.
Taylor Wollin, who picked up her third career all-conference selection, hit .352, had 13 extra-base hits and drove in 16 runs.
Emily Wollin hit .328, had seven extra-base hits, scored 22 times and stole a team-high 13 bases in as many attempts.
Meis hit .319 with an OBP of .347, had eight extra-base hits, including two homers, and drove home 16 runs and scored 15 times.
Killmon hit .322, had seven extra-base hits, drove in eight runs and scored five times.
Lake Mills junior Payton Quest and Lakeside senior Caitlyn Lloyd were honorable mention picks.
Lake Mills won the Capitol North with a 6-2 record, followed by Lodi and Poynette each at 5-3, Lakeside Lutheran at 3-5 and Columbus at 1-7.
